After countless injury reports that have caused the St. Louis faithful to groan and shield their eyes, finally we have some positive news on the injury front. Erik Johnson is expected to skate tonight after missing one game with a lower-body injury. The defenseman was forced out of last week's game early against Detroit, and most feared that the talented youngster may have a season-ending injury to one of his knees. Thankfully, this is not the case. With Johnson returning to the lineup, Nikita Nikitin returns to Peoria. In other positive injury news, Alex Pietrangelo continues to make his way back from an upper-body injury and while he won't skate tonight, his return appears to be in the near future. While the Blues still have a long road to recovery, each return is a step in the right direction. Even with all the injuries, the Blues (as well as seemingly the entire Western Conference) are still in the thick of the playoff hunt. The Blues have 35 points through 30 games, while the 8th place Chicago Blackhawks have 37 points through 34 games. Obviously, in such close conditions, each game is very important. Thankfully the Blues are starting to return a few of their core guys back into the roster.
